We are living in challenging, troubling times.  Some of us more so than others.  For some individuals, tough times are inevitable, while others, find life to be much easier.  “Life for me ain't been no crystal stair…but all the time, I'se been a-climbin' on…” (Langston Hughes)

The world is shifting, again.  There is a lot of discord in the universe. It's times like these that rewrite history.  Now how much of that history gets concealed is another story.  But what I know about history is that there are those who are movers, those who move and those who are moved when the moment comes.  The moment is now.

I have not lived on this ball for more than half a century to be trapped in place because of fear.  That is not to say I have never been afraid, to the contrary.  The fear I'm referring to keeps you stuck, complacent, unmoving, settled, accepting of the status quo.  I learned early in my life to not just take whatever someone gives me.  I don't accept anything just because someone says I should.  And if and when I am called to, I take action.  Sometimes despite fear of fallout, retaliation or rejection.  But no longer is that a fear that I will fall victim to.   I'm over it!  We should all get over it!  That fear that causes you to sit still when you should be moving.  The fear that causes you to stay silent when you should speak out. Fear that keeps you in a place, a relationship or a career where you are unhappy.   

I learned a new phrase that has been playing on repeat in my mind since the first time I HEARD it.  That phrase is “Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real.”  I have known that fear.  The false evidence that I could not be or do something at times has caused me to doubt my own abilities.  But not for very long.  Because there were always images, voices in my head of those before me with no choice, no chance and no access.  The world shifted a little. The spaces I freely move in were not obtainable at a time.  They still are not for some.  They are for whom I speak. I intend to do more of that.  I have a platform, no matter the size to sound my voice for the voiceless, the have nots, the underdogs, the 99%ers of us who are downtrodden.

What I know for sure is that this ball keeps on turning, the universe keeps changing and there will be new history. How will you leave it??
